Do you want to have a better relationship with yourself? In a safe therapeutic relationship, we will feel into these questions. We will also look at and build on practical ways to work with life’s many challenges. Through mindful inquiry, curiosity and kind humor, we’ll together create a space that is safe and expansive, that will allow you to find yourself in new and exciting ways. My approach to therapy is relational, explorative and compassionate. I work through a trauma-informed lens and utilize experiential and somatic based interventions. Our bodies hold clues and we will draw in from that source of wisdom. I work well in areas of depression, anxiety, addiction, self-esteem, men’s issues, relationship issues and life transitions. The process of starting therapy can stir many emotions, from excitement to apprehension. All of your experiences are valid and encouraged as you take this step towards finding your truer wiser self.
~CHILD THERAPY Has your child been exposed to an unfortunate early event or challenge? Childhood is a precious and vulnerable time. Unresolved issues from early years frequently have a lifetime impact. Thus it’s important to treat early. Rest assured that there are evidenced based therapies to gently ease your child back onto the path to healthy mental emotional development. Trauma Focuses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is just this type of therapy and is available in my practice. TF-CBT is a treatment model that incorporates various trauma-sensitive intervention components. It aims at individualizing techniques to children and their circumstances while maintaining therapeutic relationship with both the child and parent. TF-CBT treatment can be used with children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic life events. It is a short-term treatment (typically 12-16 sessions) that combines trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral therapy strategies. It can also be used as part of a larger treatment plan for children with other difficulties. TF-CBT includes individual sessions for both the child and the parents, as well as parent-child joint sessions. More details here.
